Psychonauts 2 was entitled today to its trailer for the world of history, but the Double Fine e teams also took the opportunity to detail the technical performance of their game, whether on console or PC. On console, the Xbox Series X version will be the best.
A game optimized first for Xbox
Surprisingly enough, only the Xbox Series X, Xbox One X (!) And PC versions of the game will be able to run in 4K definition (3840 x 2160).
The PS5 version does not seem to have been particularly optimized since it will only be available in 2560 x 1440 definition and is actually the PS4 Pro version of the game. Also, only the latest Xbox and the PC will support the 120 FPS. The PlayStation versions of the game won’t support HDR either, just like the PC version (weirdly).
Finally, it is on Xbox Series X that the game was best optimized with 4K in 60 FPS, but also a mode in 120 FPS for a 1440p definition.
Double Fine being a small team, it is possible that it is the Xbox version that has been favored to optimize the developments, the Smart Delivery helping not to waste time.
Psychonauts 2 will be available on August 25 on Xbox, PlayStation and PC consoles as well as in Game Pass. It is one of the first Xbox Game Pass games for August.
