The Chinese smartphone maker is gradually arriving in France with devices offering a bargain price based on the announced features. While the smartphone market was halfway through Q1 2022, Realme has shown clear progress, especially in the French market.
It is in this context that the brand has announced the Realme 9i 5G, a new “entry-level” smartphone for less than 200 euros.
Briefly about Realme 9i 5G
Available in three colors (Soulful blue, Rocking black and Metallica Gold) whose reflections are reminiscent of the colors of CDs, the device will be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 810 chip coupled with 4GB or 6GB of RAM. In terms of storage, Realme will offer a memory configuration of 64 GB and another 128 GB. Note that it will be possible to use microSD up to 3 TB to increase the available storage.
The screen is a 6.6-inch 1080p LCD with a claimed 90Hz refresh rate. The fingerprint scanner will be located on the edge of the device, integrated into the power key.
To power the device, Realme 9i 5G has a 5000mAh battery that can be charged (via USB-C port) with a maximum output of 18W. Realme has decided to keep the 3.5mm jack. On the software side, the phone will ship with Realme UI 3.0 based on Android 12.
Part of the photo is assigned to the rear module with three sensors, including:
50 MP main sensor (f/1.8 aperture and 5P lens);
- Sensor dedicated to 2 MP portraits;
- Macro 2 MP (for photos taken at a distance of less than 4 cm).
On the front side, an 8-megapixel selfie camera is embedded in a “water drop” in the center of the screen.
Finally, despite the screen size and large battery, Realme declares its device the thinnest in the category with a thickness of 8.1mm (and a weight of 187 grams).
