Capcom has, as expected, devoted a significant part of its Resident Evil Showcase mission to the next major episode of its Survival Horror series. And in addition to unveiling the first gameplay sequences of Resident Evil Village, the publisher has also made some revelations on its release.

Capcom therefore broadcast this evening (the inaugural episode of?) Its Resident Evil Showcase entirely devoted to the news of the eponymous series. For example, he formalized that Resident Evil Village will be released worldwide on May 7 on all relevant platforms.
About the platforms concerned precisely, as players suspected from the virtual Tokyo Game Show last September, Resident Evil Village will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X | S and PC, but also on PS4 and Xbox One.
And for players still on PS4-Xbox One who however intend to switch to the new generation soon, Capcom clarified that the PS4-Xbox One versions of “Resident Evil 8” can be transformed into PS5-Xbox Series X versions via a free update (Smart Delivery on Xbox).

In addition to the standard edition of the game, players will have the option of purchasing several special versions of the game. Resident Evil Village Deluxe Edition, completely dematrialized and offered on all platforms, contains various in-game elements such as a new level of difficulty (“Max“) or objects from Resident Evil 7 biohazard.
The Resident Evil Village Collector’s Edition is only offered on consoles. It takes all the content of the Deluxe Edition and adds real goodies like a poster, a statue of Chris Redfield, an artbook and a SteelBook.
At the same time, Capcom also unveiled the Resident Evil Village & Resident Evil 7 Complete Bundle. This allows those who have not yet played RE7 to immediately start playing RE7 while waiting for Village.
Of course, pre-order bonuses are also provided. Reserving any of these versions will get an in-game “Survival Resource Pack” and a “Mr. Raccoon Weapon Charm. “Finally, the people who will pre-order Resident Evil Village on the PlayStation Store will receive a bonus version “Mini-Soundtrack“from the game’s soundtrack.
