Riders Republic, the extreme sports game developed by Ubisoft Annecy and announced at the Ubisoft Forward event in September 2020, will not be distributed on February 25, 2021 as originally planned.
In a message to Riders Republic fans (see below) and shared on Twitter, Ubisoft confirms that the game will be distributed later in 2021. The reason given is to deliver a game that meets expectations, even if we suspect that the pandemic linked to the COVID-19 virus also weighed in the balance .
Riders Republic brings together 5 extreme sports under one roof: mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, wingsuit flying and wingsuit rocket. A premise reminiscent of another game signed Ubisoft, Steep, with one notable difference: the number of simultaneous players. Riders Republic is intended to be much more chaotic for this purpose, as more than 50 players can engage in an activity at the same time (around 20 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles).
The year 2021 is still young and already, two productions have been postponed, counting Hogwarts Legacy. According to renowned journalist Jason Schreier, who often has access to inside information in the industry, expect a lot of delays this year.
