The Marcus Fenix Collection?
Rumors about the updated collection of Gears of War began to appear at the beginning of last year. Lately, the rumors and reports that fueled those rumors have dried up, and it seems to be due to the fact that the project was shelved. The latest unofficial information about this project comes from a well-known insider known as Oops Leaks on Twitter.
On Twitter, the leaker revealed that he “heard about plans” to release the Gears collection for Xbox, but the developer working on it was Saber Interactive, a developer based partly in Russia. Given the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine, international companies are clearly reluctant to work with Russian companies or even companies linked to Russia. It doesn’t explicitly state that the problem is here, but Oops Leaks says the project is now “impossible because Saber is a Russian company.”
None of this is official information and while it is accurate, it is also subject to change. In addition, Xbox can always turn to another project developer. This will, of course, delay its release.
