Russia will support Vietnam in the production of vaccines

Russia will discuss cooperation on the production of the Sputnik-V COVID-19 vaccine in Vietnam, Russian President’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

Dmitry Peskov, Official Representative of the President of Russia told reporters on June 3 that Russia would contact the Vietnamese side to discuss cooperation in the production of vaccines, noting that the issue was mentioned in a letter sent by Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

On the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Russian Direct Investment Fund CEO Kirill Dmitriev said that he had presented to President Putin a list of countries wishing to produce the Russian vaccine, and that 20 manufacturers from 14 countries, including Vietnam, had expressed their willingness to cooperate in this area.

Speaking on June 4 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Russian President Putin noted that Sputnik-V is very effective in preventing COVID-19 and is attracting the attention of European businessmen who are ready to come to Russia for vaccination. …
