Samsung has announced its new environmental strategy and the company has committed to zero emissions by 2050.
They announced that they have joined RE100, a global initiative that aims to use 100% renewable energy sources.
Samsung Electronics today announced its new environmental strategy to bring together global efforts to combat climate change. It includes enterprisewide carbon zero commitments and plans to increase the use of renewable energy sources, as well as investing in and researching new technologies to develop energy efficient products, increase water reuse, and develop carbon capture technologies.
At the heart of the new commitment is achieving net zero carbon emissions (Volume 1 and Volume 2) across all Device eXperience (DX) operations by 2030 and all global operations, including the Device Solutions (DS) division, by 2030. 2050. The DX division includes the consumer electronics business, including Mobile eXperience, Visual Display, Digital Appliances, Networks and Health & Medical Equipment, and the DS division includes the Memory, System LSI and Foundry divisions.
