Samsung Galaxy S21 FE: a colorful smartphone inspired by its ancestor?

Samsung has made a habit of launching more affordable versions of its flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S21 should be no exception with an “FE (Fan Edition)” variant which is in development. It’s not the first time we’ve heard about this new device, but now a promotional image is circulating on the internet.

The difference in color?

The design is quite close to the Galaxy S21 with a photo module that hugs the border. The whole is however more colorful, there is light green, blue, purple and white. These fairly soft pastel tones help to better differentiate the S21 FE from the classic S21 which uses brighter colors and polished metal borders.

We also notice the presence of three sensors on the back and a front camera integrated in a punch. The screen is not curved on the sides and the layout of the keys on the edge is similar to that of the S21, which suggests that the fingerprint reader is integrated under the panel.

As for the spec sheet, it should arrive with an Exynos 2100 or an S888 depending on the geographic area. There will also no doubt be a 120 Hz AMOLED display, 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage space.

What launch date

As for the launch date, it’s still a mystery. The Galaxy S20 FE arrived in September 2020, so we can assume that its successor will also arrive in September?
