Samsung has announced a new high performance PC SSD PM9C1a, which will be available in various capacities.
These include 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB options, and come with a new controller based on Samsung’s 5nm processor and their seventh generation VNAND technology.

With its high speed, the PM9C1a SSD is ideal for both everyday use and more demanding computing and gaming applications. Using PCIe 4.0 interface, Samsung PM9C1a boasts 1.6 times sequential read speed and 1.8 times sequential write speed compared to the previous offering (PM9B1), reaching 6000 megabytes per second (MB/s) and 5600 MB/s respectively. . In addition, random read and write speeds can support up to 900K IOPS and 1000K IOPS, respectively.
The PM9C1a also delivers up to 70% more energy efficiency per watt than its predecessor. This means that the new SSD can perform the same number of tasks while consuming significantly less power. In addition, when the laptop enters standby mode, the SSD consumes approximately 10% less power.
