A few days ago, Samsung announced that it was the victim of a massive cyberattack, the second since the beginning of the year. Thus, the South Korean giant confirms the information from The Hacker News, which 5 days ago claimed that Samsung servers were hacked again, which led to a major leak of personal data (names, contacts, dates of birth of customers) and professional data (data about products of customers from USA).
Therefore, Samsung confirms the attack in a press release: “At the end of July 2022, an unauthorized third party received information from certain American Samsung systems. Around August 4, 2022, as part of our ongoing investigation, we determined that some customers’ personal information was affected. Recall that in the first quarter of this year, Samsung became an unsuccessful target of the LAPSUS$ group, and again cyber hackers were able to recover confidential data. Obviously, the protective measures taken after this attack were insufficient.
