Samsung has just announced the date of its next Unpacked product conference during which the manufacturer is expected to present its latest folding smartphones. The Samsung Unpacked will take place on August 11 from 3 p.m. in France in a virtual format. The event will be followed live on the Samsung.com website.
This is the third product keynote of the year for Samsung, which should continue a trend established by previous launches: offering more affordable terminals. In January, the South Korean brand unveiled its flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S21, which was cheaper than its predecessor. This was followed in March by the presentation of the Galaxy A which occupy the entry-level segment at Samsung. In a blog post dated last December, TM Roh, the boss of the mobile branch, announced that Samsung was planning to expand its offer of folding smartphones and make them “more accessible”.
Galaxy S21 FE 5G and Galaxy Watch 4 also on the menu?
In all likelihood, Samsung is expected to present a new Galaxy Z Fold 3 and an update to the Z Flip 3. The former should include a front camera under the display, even more elaborate rear cameras and support for a special version of the S Pen stylus. The Z Flip 3 could adopt a new two-tone design and a more spacious outer screen when the phone is folded up.
In addition to folding smartphones, the Unpacked conference is expected to include a new Galaxy S21 FE 5G, the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic smartwatches, as well as the Galaxy Buds 2 wireless headphones.
