Seizure of 645 kg of cannabis resin by customs officers on the A6 highway

Agents of the Dijon Brigade intercepted a truck coming from Spain. On the illegal drug resale market, they found 645 kilograms of cannabis resin, the value of which is estimated at more than 5 million euros. This is the largest confiscation of cannabis carried out by Dijon customs officials since November 2020.

On February 17, at the control on the A6 motorway, employees of the Dijon customs brigade
choose a combination truck from Spain.

The driver declares the transportation of spare parts of cars. Opening the truck effectively allows officers to see the presence of batteries on
pallets.

It is through careful inspection of the trailer that the agents notice a hidden
at the bottom of the cargo there are numerous burlap suitcases containing cannabis resin.

In total, Dijon customs officers seized 17 suitcases containing 645 kg of cannabis resin.

The driver was taken into custody at customs and, at the direction of the prosecutor, along with the drugs, was handed over to the police for further investigation.

The court’s decision has been postponed until May 3. In 2022, customs seized 104 tons of drugs, including 66.25 tons of cannabis.
