The PlayStation 5 has been Sony’s current console for only about two years, and was released on November 12, 2020 in the US. At launch, there were several new features associated with the console, such as game help cards, action cards, and a few others. .
One of the new features is the rewards system. Many don’t even know that this feature existed until today. According to Sony, this launch feature will be discontinued “in the fall of 2022”.
“As of Fall 2022, the Accolades feature on PlayStation 5 will no longer be supported,” Sony said in a statement. “This feature hasn’t gotten the level of usage we expected, so we’re refocusing our efforts. We encourage the community to continue sending positive messages to each other.”
Braces allowed players to give braces and reward other players they encountered online. You can give another player a helpful hug, a welcome hug, or a sporty hug, depending on what it was like playing with them. You could give one commendation per match, and you could only give them to players who weren’t your friends.
Now you only have a few months (or less) to secure as many of these braces as possible, otherwise you can simply ignore this feature, which you probably already did.
