PARIS (Reuters) – Europe’s Ariane 5 launch vehicle lifted off Wednesday night from Kourou in French Guiana for its first mission of the year with two telecommunications satellites on board, Arianespace and ArianeGroup said in a joint press release. .
Two satellites – MEASAT-3d from the Malaysian operator MEASAT and GSAT-24 from the Indian Space Agency – have been successfully launched into orbit.
“This new success following the successful launch of the James Webb Space Telescope continues to make Ariane 5 part of history,” said André-Hubert Roussel, ArianeGroup Executive Chairman.
This mission is one of the last missions of the Ariane 5 rocket before it was replaced by the Ariane 6.
