Returning from a holiday in County Kerry, Ireland, Gwynne Shotwell, President and COO of SpaceX, congratulates herself on never having dropped out of the Internet during her treks through the wildest Black Valley. This was made possible by a portable receiver kit developed by Starlink, a low-orbit satellite constellation developed by SpaceX. Starlink is already up and running, with 3,000 satellites already in orbit out of more than 40,000 planned, Elon Musk’s teams are even starting an aggressive commercial campaign.

In France, Arcep finally allowed the service after legal issues that delayed entry into service. In early August, SpaceX announced that it was halving the cost of a monthly Starlink subscription from €99 to €50. In addition to the subscription, there is a cost per material of 480 euros for the receiving antenna.
