Multibillionaire and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk hinted at a possible collaboration with Apple (NASDAQ:) today after responding to a user on Twitter. A user named Zak expressed hope that the aviation and aerospace company responsible for Starlink would partner with Apple to “help connect to the new iPhone 14 via an emergency SOS signal with satellites.”
Elon Musk, being a ubiquitous Twitter user, responded to Zach, suggesting that conversations between the companies were already underway.
Musk wrote: “We had some promising conversations with Apple about the Starlink connection. The iPhone team is obviously very smart.”
“Of course, overlapping communication between space and a phone would work better if the phone software and hardware adapted to space signals, rather than if Starlink just emulated a cell tower,” Musk added.
