Streets of Rage 4 – DLC and free content for the beat’em all

Game news Streets of Rage 4 – DLC and free content for the beat’em all

Mr. X had better watch out! Streets of Rage 4, the excellent beat’em up from last year, is finally back and it offers players to put the gloves back on once again to undermine the plans of the evil Mr. X. To do so, publisher and co-developer Dotemu as well as Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games are offering us additional free content as well as a first paid DLC.

Streets of Rage 4 was a real success, both critically and commercially! The creation of Lizardcube does not hide it since it has just announced the good news: Streets of Rage 4 currently exceeds 2.5 million downloads. To celebrate this great event, the neo-retro beat’em up offers players a very first DLC including three new playable characters, as well as a free update.

Let’s start with the brand new expansion of the game. The latter, named Mr. X Nightmare, will allow players to discover three new playable characters, starting with the muscular officer Estel Aguirre. Indeed, the latter, which we have already seen as a boss in the initial game, decides to leave her post to join Axel Stone’s group.

First appearing in the game as an intimidating boss, Estel uses her fists and feet like no one to kick the ass of anyone who turns out to be reckless enough to get in her way. Dotemu

The other two characters added by this new content have unfortunately not been communicated, but we imagine that the good old Max Thunder will once again be in the game. Of course, this is not the only novelty of this DLC, since Mr. X Nightmare also introduces new enemies, the ability to customize the fighting style of our heroes, a handful of new musical titles composed by Tee Lopes (Sonic Mania, League of Legends), new weapons and also and above all a brand new game mode called Survival. The latter offers players in need of challenges to take up particularly tough challenges.

Finally, the free update of Streets of Rage 4 will offer an additional difficulty mode, namely, Mania + mode, new colorimetry options as well as a complete training system.

As a reminder, Streets of Rage 4 is already available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
