Here you will find a recap of the main announcements made during the opening ceremony of the Summer Game Fest.
The Summer Game Fest is a festival dedicated to new video games. Originally, it was hosted by Geoff Keighley in 2020 following the cancellation of E3. While this last event returns to the front of the stage in 2021, the Summer Game Fest has all the same been renewed for a second edition. On the program, around thirty different games were presented during the two hours of the event. Guests have also appeared, such as Hideo Kojima who announced great news for his title Death Stranding. We detail all of this in the following lines.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands
The Summer Game Fest kicked off with a world premiere. Gearbox Software and 2K Games have announced their next game Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. Scheduled for 2022, it is a spin-off of the games Borderlands, in a universe that borrows a lot from fantasy. The title will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and PC.
Death Stranding Director’s Cut
Hideo Kojima, in a discussion with Geoff Keighley, revealed the arrival of Death Stranding on PS5 “Soon”. This is a version Director’s Cut which was revealed in a trailer that looked like Metal Gear Solid, another creation by Hideo Kojima. We should know more in the coming weeks.
Jurassic World Evolution 2
In another world premiere, Frontier Developments unveiled the all-new trailer for the upcoming Jurassic World Evolution 2. It’s due out later this year on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC.
Lost ark is a highly anticipated RPG developed by Amazon Games Studios. This is a hack n ‘slash game that will be released on PC in the fall of 2021.
Call of Duty
Details have been shared on the upcoming season of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. Season 4 will begin on June 17th. In an explosive trailer, a new agent is revealed, as well as an event affecting the Verdansk map. We also know that several multiplayer maps will land, including Hijacked and Collateral. Finally, a new zombie mode will be introduced.
Innersloth has unveiled several new features to come to Among Us. To begin with, a new game mode will appear: hide and seek. There will also be two new roles as well as new cosmetic items. Innersloth also revealed that they are working on the fifth map. We will surely have to wait a few more months to be able to play it. Finally, the number of players per game will soon increase from 10 to 15 maximum.
Two Point Campus
The creators of Two Point Hospital return in 2022 with a brand new game called Two Point Campus. The college management game will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, PC and Nintendo Switch.
Exclusivity on Microsoft media, The Anacrusis revealed itself in an unseen trailer. This is a space and alien FPS game with a strong retro feel. It will be available in fall 2021 on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X / S.
Planet of Lana
Another game planned for Xbox and PC, Planet of Lana also got a new trailer. It is a narrative and poetic game whose strong point is its visual aspect. Indeed, the game prides itself on having graphics ” handmade “ and which are of heartwarming beauty. It will be available in 2022 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and PC.
Deviation Games becomes official PlayStation partner
Deviation Games is a brand new studio founded by former employees of Treyarch, who collaborate on titles including call of Duty Black Ops. The studio is currently developing over 20 games for PlayStation and has even announced its official partnership with PlayStation Studios.
Back 4 Blood
A few days ago, Warner Bros. Games claimed that there would be no other game presentations other than that of Back 4 Blood during E3. We got a glimpse of it with last night’s conference, which announced an open beta for the title available on August 5th. The game is still expected on October 12.
Announced in 2017, Tunic knew how to be desired by the players. This action-exploration game is due out for Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, and PC at an unknown date. A demo is coming from next week on consoles.
Finally, Elden Ring revealed itself in a new gameplay trailer, which also announces its official release date. It will land on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and PC on January 21, 2022.
