Tesla Semi: Elon Musk confirms electric truck range of over 800 kilometers.

Tesla’s first electric truck, the Semi, promises to be very durable. So far, the automaker has reportedly made a full trip with a full load, and the range seems to be as good as the automaker had hoped.

At the time, during the 2017 unveiling of its first electric Semi truck, Tesla had already promised a range of almost 500 miles. Just weeks before the official launch, the American automaker’s CEO, Elon Musk, delivered encouraging news about the durability of his tractor-trailer semi-trailer.

“The Tesla team just drove 500 miles (805 km) in an 81,000 lb (36,741 kg) Tesla Semi! “, announced the new Twitter boss in a tweet. Therefore, it may seem that the electric truck is fully in line with the expectations of Tesla and therefore its customers. Several large companies have already ordered dozens of copies, including Walmart, UPS, PepsiCo, DHL and FedEx.

Tesla Semi truck promises to be very autonomous

A few days ago, Tesla Investor Relations Manager Martin Viecha shared that the Tesla Semi might be his favorite Tesla product. He said: “Most of the people in the investment community (including major shareholders) that I spoke to didn’t believe it was possible to build a fully loaded 800km class 8 truck.”

A range of 800 kilometers with a full load between charges seems like an excellent compromise for a long-haul commercial tractor-trailer, as this is about 8 hours of driving, after which a break is mandatory. Drivers will then have to go to charging points designated for this purpose. It is also reminded that in the end they could absorb as much as a small city.

Thus, Tesla has probably exceeded all expectations with its electric truck, which should be on the roads by the end of 2022. Indeed, on December 1, PepsiCo should receive its order for the Tesla Semi. Tesla is inviting a limited number of retail investors to the event, which will be held at the Gigafactory Nevada.
