Tesla will finally remove the option to play when the car is in motion

A few weeks ago, some Tesla users discovered the ability to play through the control screen as a passenger when the car was in motion. Since then, the US authorities have intervened.

We told you about it when the NHTSA (the US Highway Traffic Safety Agency) opened an investigation. Well, since then things have moved on and therefore Tesla must back down.

In fact, about two weeks ago, some Tesla owners in America noticed a new feature. Passenger Play allowed Tesla passengers to play while the car was in motion.

If this seems completely absurd to you, you are not alone and that is why the competent authorities have investigated the matter.

Therefore, a NHTSA spokesperson sent an email to AFP stating that: “In a new software update, ‘Passenger Play’ will now be locked and unusable when the vehicle is in motion.”

Finished playing

Therefore, Tesla should quickly remove this feature with an upcoming update. But this is not the first time Elon Musk’s firm has dealt with NHTSA.

In fact, American road safety is closely monitoring the Autopilot software and does not forget to remember that in 2019, 3,142 accidents were caused by inattentive driving, in the United States.
