Despite a rather mediocre release last September, The DioField Chronicle will continue to be supported by Square Enix, at least for the duration of the update. The tactical RPG that wants to be the successor to Final Fantasy Tactics will indeed qualify for a lot of free new features thanks to a patch scheduled for March 2023 for PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
It will first add a new side-scenario playable after chapter 5, putting us in the shoes of Waltakin Redditch in a series of missions leading us to battle the Behemoth. She will wield a unique weapon, a grimoire that can summon a Skeleton Knight with a Necromancy spell and turn your units into a Skeleton Dragon with a Necrotam spell.
For the more adventurous, two additional difficulty modes will be offered. On the one hand, Very Hard offers more difficult battles with fewer shards, increased frequency of using enemy skills, reduced skill cooldowns, longer awakening times and limited health recovery, and much more. On the other hand, an additional mode that can only be selected in New Game+, where high-level enemies will appear from the very beginning of the adventure, and we will keep our levels, weapons and skills. All of this is shown in the Japanese trailer above.
If you’re interested in The DioField Chronicle, it’s available from €37.24 on Amazon.fr.
