Just announced at the beginning of the month, the 100% digital formula of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) show would be in danger.
The information is sent to us by Jeff Grubb. In his video (see below), the journalist specializing in video games from the VentureBeat publication recalls that the E3 show has been cancelled, at least its face-to-face version. He adds that the online version “has probably also been cancelled.”
If the rumor doesn’t seem convincing at first, remember that Jeff Grubb has an amazing track record when it comes to information leaks in the industry. Most of the time, he hit the nail on the head with his words, making him a reliable source.
However, that doesn’t mean E3 is definitely dead and buried. After all, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), in charge of the event, would not be its first cancellation. Remember that the 2020 edition was not held at all, neither in person nor online, due to complications related to the COVID-19 epidemic.
If the decision is confirmed, Geoff Keighley would have a free hand with his Summer Game Fest 2022 event.
