The Expanse: A Series by James S.A. Corey has been adapted into a video game.

Since 2011, James S.A. Corey, the pseudonym used by writing duo Daniel Abraham and Ty Frank, is developing an ambitious and detailed sci-fi universe in The Expanse. To date, 9 titles have been published, translated in France by Actes Sud by Thierry Arson and Yiannis Urano, including La Chute du Léviathan released in 2022, which has some potential for adaptation in other media.

Editor’s Summary for The Expanse Volume 1: Leviathan Awakens:

Jim Holden is second on the ice transport between Saturn’s rings and stations in the asteroid belt. When he and his team cross paths with Scopuli, they discover they have a secret that some would kill for. War is coming if he doesn’t know who left this ship and why.

As for the audiovisual part, this was done in 2015 with a series created by Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby based on the novels The Expanse. Broadcasting on Syfy, Prime Video or even Netflix ended in 2021 after 6 seasons and at least 62 episodes…

It opens up a new way for fans to expand the experience with The Expanse: A Telltale Series, a video game set before the TV series. It will feature Kamina Drummer as the main character who has already appeared in the series, played by Kara G, who reprises her role in this case.

If we rely on previous Telltale Games products, The Expanse series should offer multiple choice stories that will present the player with difficult choices…

The game is supposed to take place in the space prison of Artemis. The release is scheduled for summer 2023.
