The Orville will air on Disney+ starting August 10th.

After a nearly threeyear delay, Hulu’s The Orville season 3 kicked off last month. Now, creator Seth MacFarlane has announced that the series’ first three seasons will also air on Disney+.

The Orville was hugely popular with critics and Star Trek fans, but in just two seasons it went from a much wider distribution with Fox to a smaller Hulu audience. However, with more than 85 million subscribers worldwide, Disney+ will greatly expand its pool of potential viewers. Maybe even help him stay afloat.

“I’m thrilled to bring all three seasons of The Orville to Disney+,” MacFarlane said. “Creating this show has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career and I am eternally grateful to Disney for giving us the opportunity to further expand our Orville community. I can’t wait for a new audience to see this series.”

This deal could prove decisive for the series as it has yet to greenlight a fourth season. McFarlane himself did not reveal anything about it, saying, “I don’t think we’ll know until this season is over.” The last two episodes of the third season will air on July 28 and August 4, with all three seasons coming to Disney+ on August 10.
