The company’s official website now displays a pop-up confirming Cullander’s death, as well as some details about his accomplishments.

“It is with the greatest sadness and heavy heart that we inform you of the passing of our friend and co-founder Tiantian Kullander, who died unexpectedly in his sleep on November 23, 2022,” the pop-up message reads.

Kullander was 30 years old and was survived by his wife and son.

Also known as “TT,” Kullander was one of the co-founders of Hong Kong-based Amber Group, which describes itself as “a crypto financial services provider that provides liquidity, trading, and 24/7 asset management.

In addition to Amber Group, TT also served on the board of directors of esports company Fnatic and founded KeeperDAO, a decentralized finance protocol that allows users to trade, borrow and bet assets.

The company described TT as a friendly and hardworking individual who “put his heart and soul into the company” and pushed it to success.

“TT has been a respected thought leader and widely recognized industry pioneer. His deep knowledge, willingness to collaborate and desire to always help others have benefited countless startups and individuals. His ideas and his creativity have inspired many projects, people and communities.”

Prior to founding Amber Group in 2017, Kullander worked as an emerging markets trader for large financial services group Morgan Stanley. Early in his career, he worked for less than a year in structured-credit trading at Goldman Sachs.

The crypto community also expressed its condolences on Twitter.

“I have never met a single person who would say something negative about him. An almost incredible feat in this industry and a testament to his character,” said famous crypto trader Hsaka.

Arthur Cheong, founding partner of DeFiance Capital, mentioned that “the industry has lost a young, vibrant and, above all, beautiful soul.”
