The large Covid-19 vaccination center which will be set up at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis) is due to open its doors on April 6, several official sources told AFP on Tuesday.
This giant center aims to accelerate the pace of injections against the coronavirus, by massively vaccinating the inhabitants of Ile-de-France. The region is one of the areas subject to new health restrictions affecting a third of French people, due to the outbreak of the epidemic.
The operation is jointly piloted by the Regional Health Agency (ARS) of Ile-de-France, the prefecture of Seine-Saint-Denis, the departmental council, the city of Saint-Denis and the brigade of sappers. Paris firefighters.
It should make it possible to vaccinate about “10,000 people” per week, according to the authorities.
Large-scale vaccination will not take place “on the lawn” but inside, in one of the reception rooms, said the city of Saint-Denis.
The ARS and the firefighters will be responsible for the medical component of the device.
Appointments will be accessible online for all residents of the Ile-de-France region.
At the same time, a platform for making appointments specially reserved for the inhabitants of Seine-Saint-Denis, via a dedicated number, will be installed in an adjoining lounge, said the departmental council. Fifty people, mostly young people and students, have been recruited for the task, the source added.
The city of Saint-Denis has specified that its teams will be dedicated to logistics, namely the assembly of structures and the management of patients on their arrival. Sixty recruitments are underway for this purpose, she said.
The installation should actually start next week.
For its part, the Plaine Commune urban community will distribute meals to the staff of the vaccination center.
These vaccination super-structures, like what is already done at the Vélodrome de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (Yvelines) or at the legendary Marseille Vélodrome, are called upon to develop in order to stop the chains of contamination. .
