The Suicide Squad: A New Trailer For Harley Quinn And His Gang

Culture news The Suicide Squad: A New Trailer For Harley Quinn And His Gang

The shock team composed exclusively of villains from the DC Comics universe will resume service on July 28, 2021 with James Gunn at the helm, a director who made his superheroic debut on Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) and its sequel Les Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017).

The Suicide Squad (2021) is neither a reboot nor a remake of Suicide Squad (2016) directed by David Ayer with Will Smith aka Deadshot. We are in the presence of a standalone. That is to say an adventure that does not require having seen the previous film, but still belongs to the DCEU (for DC Extended Universe). Some actors are reprising their roles, starting with Margot Robbie and Joel Kinnaman who play Harley Quinn and Rick Flag respectively. Producer Charles Roven confirmed all of this to us in a recent interview:

If you haven’t seen Suicide Squad (2016) it doesn’t matter because you can get all the information you need in The Suicide Squad (2021), whether it’s in terms of character motivations, of their mission, etc. – Charles Roven (Producer)

The Suicide Squad is part of the DC Extended Universe, but you really don’t have to know the DCEU to enjoy this movie. – Charles Roven (Producer)

The new trailer just released confirms this. If we recognize some faces, this new trailer opens on a new one: Bloodsport. We thus discover how he was enlisted in the Suicide Squad and a non-negligible link is made between him, and Superman. Amanda Waller tells us from the first seconds that Bloodsport was imprisoned after shooting Clark Kent with a Kryptonite bullet. After which, between humor and explosions, the Suicide Squad is revealed a little more with new images of each of its members, all more barred and unexpected than the other. Their goal ? Take down the giant monster that threatens to destroy the world following an experiment gone awry, Project Starfish. And to carry out this mission, we will not have to be afraid of death.

The film The Suicide Squad will be parachuted into French territory on July 28, 2021.
