The trailer for season 3 of ‘Lost in Space’ promises an epic conclusion for the beloved series (video)

The first (and probably only) trailer for the third and final season of “Lost in Space” has just arrived, and it seems like the story is going in a really interesting direction.

If you haven’t watched Netflix’s “Lost in Space”, please do so right now. Ditch your decaf oat milk latte half a coffee, forget about that PowerPoint presentation, and log on to Netflix. You will thank us.

The show is a reimagining of the groundbreaking science fiction series of the same name that aired on black and white television screens across the United States in 1965. That show grew out of the imagination of Irwin Allen, and current showrunner Zack Estrin made it happen. It has been reworked in the same way that Ron D. Moore did with Glen A. Larson’s 1978 “Battlestar Galactica”. It’s been updated, reinvented, redesigned, tweaked, and perfected, and the result has been one of the best science fiction shows on television in recent years.

At the end of season two, which aired two years ago, we saw an entire robot ship attack and board the mothership The Resolute, and more entrants to retrieve the alien engine. Maureen (Molly Parker) and Don (Ignacio Serricchio) manage to catch them, while Judy (Taylor Russell) leads a mission to send the 97 children of The Resolute to the Alpha Centauri colony on a Jupiter landing craft using the alien engine, piloted by the Robot. .

The Jupiter carrying the children escapes through a rift in space, but the human-made radar signature that the Robot followed has led the ship to an unknown star system. There they find the Fortuna, a ship that had disappeared almost 20 years earlier and was commanded by Grant Kelly, Judy’s biological father.

While the second season wasn’t as good as the first, we still expect great things from this quality sci-fi.

“This is Will Robinson from the 24th Settler Group. If you are watching this recording, there is a chance that things may not work out as expected,” says Robinson in the newly released third season trailer, as the chords of the theme play in a slow, minimal and disturbing way. “I thought … I thought I could save everyone. I’m doing this so everyone can survive, because you are my family and I love you. I just hope it’s enough.”

The trailer, which was posted to YouTube on Thursday (October 7), shows a lot of destruction and devastation, with Will Robinson (Maxwell Jenkins) providing the voice-over of what appears to be a somewhat grim situation. What stands out from the trailer is that the writers seem to have made the most of the fact that little Maxwell is not so small anymore and instead of spending a fortune on CGI, they have adopted a flashback-style story that he really grew up on. .

It’s quite possible that in addition to the COVID-19 pandemic that has ravaged everything, Estrin took his time to capitalize on the natural process of puberty.

The cast also includes Toby Stephens (John Robinson), Mina Sundwall (Penny Robinson), and Parker Posey as Dr. Smith.

Seasons 1 and 2 of “Lost in Space” are currently available on Netflix, and season 3 will be available in its entirety on Wednesday, December 1. “Lost in Space” is only available on the Netflix subscription service. Subscriptions start at $ 8.99 per month.
