This electric car accelerates from 0 to 100 in less than 2 seconds

Lucid Motors offers the Sapphire Edition, the world’s fastest all-electric sedan.

In the world of electric vehicles, we obviously find Tesla. The brand, founded by Elon Musk in the early 2000s, dominates its market, but is not alone. Other companies have made electric vehicles their mantra. This is especially true for Lucid Motors.

The young American company took advantage of the car weeks in Monterey last week to introduce the Lucid Air Sapphire Edition. This all-electric vehicle is capable of 0 to 100 km/h in less than two seconds, an incredible performance that puts it on par with the latest Ferrari or Lamborghini models. Against the background of these luxurious cars, the new sedan from Lucid looks like an alien.

New Lucid: “Sapphire Edition”

Because this car is not made for sport and competition at any cost. First of all, it is a luxury model that does not skimp on interior equipment to make the journey as enjoyable as possible. If the car isn’t on the market yet, it could hit the market with the title of “world’s fastest electric sedan”, surpassing the days of the Tesla Model S Plaid.

If the brand hasn’t provided a lot of information about this new car yet, we already know the power will be there. According to the figure, which has been widely circulated since the presentation, the car will have about 1,200 horsepower under the hood. All four-wheel drive for greater stability and comfort.

With this new model, Lucid demonstrates above all his ability to take care of details. It offers two different wheel sizes (20″ front and 21″ rear). But even more impressive is that the young company will be supplying each vehicle with new hubcaps to improve the car’s aerodynamics.

$250,000 car

They should be used on long trips to protect the battery and maintain a certain range. If the car is attractive in every way, you will have to put your hand in your pocket to afford such a car. According to announcements made by Lucid last week, the starting price should be around $250,000.

If the car is already available for pre-order, Lucid has not announced the number of units that will be sold. The only information we have regarding this new version of Sapphire is that it should leave the factories in 2023.
