The VP of Marvel Games talked about the idea of creating an MCU for both video games and movies or series. Will Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Marvel’s Wolverine, or even EA’s Iron Man project have a shared universe?
With every Marvel game released or in production, everyone wondered if the company wanted to create MGU, the Marvel game universe, to emulate the MCU.
Will Marvel’s playable universe be added to the MCU soon?
The answer will likely disappoint fans, but no, there won’t be an MCU equivalent for Marvel video games. Bill Rosemann, Vice President and Creative Director of Marvel Games, gave his opinion during an interview.
The world is surprisingly familiar with and accepting the multiverse. There are all these different realities, and we want to give everyone the freedom to tell their story. We don’t want to tell them, “You can’t blow up the moon because this game from another studio needs the moon.” We want to give everyone the freedom and opportunity to tell their story.
So the developers of Insomniac Games with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Wolverine, Motive Studio for their Iron Man game, or the creators of Uncharted with a title that includes Captain America and Black Panther, won’t have to scrutinize their work to integrate them into the same universe. . A point that will perhaps make it easier for others tired of having to watch every Marvel movie or series to discover all the intricacies.
For your part, would you prefer the MCU to Marvel games? Or are you relieved that Marvel Games is trying to copy their cinematic universe at all costs? Tell us everything in the comments.
