Turkey allows emergency use of Sputnik V vaccine

ISTANBUL (Reuters). On Friday, the Turkish Medicines Agency authorized the emergency use of the Sputnik V vaccine against COVID-19.

Ankara on Wednesday announced that it has signed a contract to supply 50 million doses of the Russian vaccine over six months. The first deliveries are expected next month.

At the moment, two vaccines are allowed in Turkey: vaccines from the American Pfizer group and its German partner BioNTech, as well as vaccines from the Chinese laboratory Sinovac Biotech.
