Turn your iPhone into a PlayStation Portable with the official Sony controller

In a social media post, Sony has unveiled a new special controller for iPhone: the Backbone One – PlayStation Edition, a controller clearly inspired by the DualSense design that lets you play PlayStation games on iPhone using the PS Remote Play feature. The design of Backbone One – PlayStation Edition was created in collaboration with PlayStation, with colors, materials and finishes clearly inspired by the design of the PS5 DualSense wireless controller. The controller integrates seamlessly with other PS5 products, such as the Pulse 3D headphones, which can be connected directly to the Backbone One. The Backbone One lets you play PlayStation games using the remote play feature, but apparently it also works flawlessly with App Store games like Genshin Impact, Fantasian, Call of Duty: Mobile. The controller then also interacts with the Backbone app, which is already available on the App Store: inside you can see all the latest PlayStation releases and releases released by Sony, record clips and edit them directly from the app. Backbone One – PlayStation Edition is available in the following countries: United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Netherlands and United Kingdom. The controller can be purchased on the official Backbone website for the price of 119.99 euros.

In fact, a similar product is already available when it comes to Xbox: it’s the Nacon MG-X, a controller designed for Android smartphones that allows you to play Xbox games via the cloud or games on the Play Store. Like the PlayStation controller we just described, the Nacon MG-X also (vaguely) follows the design of the Xbox controllers: the buttons have the classic Microsoft console symbols, complemented by the colors used on the official controllers, while at the bottom is a button with the Xbox logo (with backlight) that brings up the console menu.
