Twitter: US Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez accused Elon Musk of blocking her account

“It’s not very free speech. Democratic MP Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Thursday spoke out against billionaire Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter. Whoever earned the nickname “AOC” accuses him of, among other things, having his account blocked or at least restricted after being criticized by an elected New York official on several occasions.

“Hey Elon Musk, I got your attention, why should people pay $8 just to have their app blocked when they say something you don’t like? This is what my app looks like since my tweet disturbed you yesterday. (…) It doesn’t seem like much freedom of expression to me,” Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweeted, showing a picture of her notification thread, empty since yesterday.

Transferring weapons by pasted tweets

In question, according to the member of Congress, are several tweets in which she condemns Elon Musk’s choice to use a paid subscription to save the certificate, as well as to be more visible in social network searches.

“The billionaire is seriously trying to convince people that freedom of speech is really an $8 a month subscription,” she tweeted on Wednesday. To which Elon Musk responded with a laconic phrase: “Your feedback is valuable, now pay $8. “It is after this exchange that the MP makes sure her notifications are empty while she has over 13 million followers.

In a series of tweets posted on his account, the head of Space X and Tesla talked about products sold by AOC as part of his campaign, including a $58 sweater. When asked, she hurried to defend the price of her products.

“My workers are unionized, well paid, socially secure and free from racism in the workplace. Items are made in the USA. The AOC team honors and respects employees. You should try sometimes instead of beating unions,” suggested Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
