Twitter’s lawsuit against Elon Musk will begin on October 17

legal action Twitter Inc. (NYSE:TWTR) vs. Elon MuskCEO Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) was announced after the latter backed out of the acquisition of the microblogging company.

According to CNBC, the feud between Twitter and Musk is due to go to court on October 17, 2022, unless the two sides reach an agreement before then.

The move follows the billionaire entrepreneur’s return to an April 2022 deal to buy the company for $44 billion.

The trial will take place in the Delaware Court of Chancery, presided over by the Chancellor. Kathleen St. Jay McCormick.

Since the case was set, McCormick has turned to lawyers for Twitter and Musk to set a series of tight deadlines. A deadline of August 1 has been set for both parties to submit initial disclosure requests to third parties. In addition, McCormick demanded that the deposition be completed by 29 September.

The Chancellor stressed on Thursday, July 28, that “no prior disclosure shall be requested or delayed for the purpose of making unreasonable claims or extorting unreasonable advantages from the adverse party.”
