Then, at the weigh-in, we saw that Khamzat Chimaev missed weight. Specifically, while Diaz hit the 171 lb limit at welterweight for non-title fights, Chimaev came in at 178.5 lbs, down 7.5 lbs. This turns the match – Diaz’s final under his UFC contract – into chaos.

MMA writer Cole Shelton (will open in a new tab) tweeted that one of Diaz’s supporters said: “The fight with Khamzat will not take place.” Diaz’s team believes that Chimaev did not even try to gain weight, but instead cheated. Shelton noted that there is an opinion that Diaz will fight Tony Ferguson, or he will leave.

Shelton’s sources were right and Diaz will now be fighting Ferguson. Chimaev is fighting Kevin Holland, who… well, let’s rewind a bit. On Wednesday, he got into a verbal altercation with Paulo Costa at middleweight, and then on Thursday he got into a fight with… Kevin Holland.

Ferguson (-135, $135 bet to win $100) is a much smaller favorite for Diaz than Chimaev (-950). These odds are through DraftKings (will open in a new tab)in which Diaz has +105 ($100 bet to win $105).
