Unannounced Japanese Game Achievements, Never Released on Xbox, Discovered

Among the criticisms frequently voiced of the catalog of games available on Xbox consoles by critics of the US brand is the perceived limited number of Japanese games available. Microsoft has often raised the issue publicly, and while it is not exclusive, it significantly increased the number of Japanese licenses offered on its machines. And to believe a recent discovery, it could be that Xbox will soon welcome a famous Japanese series.

It may well be that Xbox consoles will soon be hosting a Japanese game that has yet to be announced. Japanese game that is also taken from a famous series that never had a presence on Xbox until now. In fact, a Reset Era forum user just found out that Achievements from a mysterious game Taiko no Tatsujin have been added to the TrueAchievements site.

Without a doubt

For reasons of discretion, the actual game name associated with these Achievements is not disclosed. The Bandai Namco Entertainment series title appears simply under the title “T Tablet_for XC”. The illustrative images of the Hits and their description, however, leave no room for doubt. In fact, it is a Taiko no Tatsujin on Xbox. FYI, this mysterious Xbox Taiko no Tatsujin lets you unlock 89 achievements for a total of 1,000 player points.

As for the potential title of this new Japanese game for Xbox, there are several possibilities. In fact, BNE has recently registered several trademarks. According to the Gematsu website, these brands are “Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival” and “Taiko no Tatsujin: The Drum Master”. Knowing that the descriptions of various Achievements refer to “Drum Master”, the second option seems credible.

Towards a greater presence of Japanese games on Xbox?

Over time, the games in the Taiko no Tatsujin series have been released on many platforms. And the vast majority of these titles never left the borders of Japan. In recent years, Bandai Namco has tried to bring an international dimension to its license. In fact, recent episodes have been offered in the West on Switch and PS4. Xbox consoles have not been entitled to this until now.

Given this revelation, several questions arise. Will this Xbox Taiko no Tatsujin have the right to its own Taiko controller? When will this title be announced? Is it one of the surprises of the Game Awards 2021? Is Microsoft preparing for the arrival of other Japanese games to Xbox? Only the future will tell.
