Unique in Belgium: Artificial Intelligence in the Intercollegiate Certificate Program from September in Charleroi

This is the first case in Belgium. From September next year, courses for the Interuniversity Certificate in Artificial Intelligence will be held at the Civil Hospital Marie Curie. Launched jointly by Université Libre de Bruxelles and UMONS, it is unparalleled in Belgium and will be one of the first of its kind in Europe. These courses will focus on unlocking the current potential and limitations of AI and digital technologies in healthcare.

This inter-university certificate is for anyone who wants to deepen their knowledge in this field, whether they are a specialist in healthcare, industrial environment, research environment, law, management or just curious to discover this field. No prerequisites are expected. “This initiative fleshes out the collective efforts of the Belgian ecosystem to offer quality education in the innovative fields of artificial intelligence and digital medicine. We can count on the cooperation of passionate experts from different fields and from different universities (except ULB). and UMONS). The program, led by Giovanni Briganti and Prof. Karim Zuaoui Buggeltia, ULB and UMONS scientists, is divided into 4 modules: introduction to AI methods and digital health, their potential and limitations, the impact of AI and digital care. about society and, finally, the epistemological questions that arise in connection with the use of AI in medicine. “After earning this certification, candidates are expected to want to complete their studies with a more in-depth approach in one of the proposed areas in order to expand our pool of national experts on the subject,” the two academics conclude. leaders.
