Mossos d’Esquadra discovered on Thursday 27 October 2022 an illegal plantation in the basement of a house in Vacarisses, northwest of Barcelona. 413 plants were confiscated, 3 people were arrested.
It’s called a police raid. Both figuratively and literally. Once again, Mossos d’Esquadra posted a video of their performance on social media. On Thursday 27 October 2022, in cooperation with the local police, the Catalan police discovered a plantation hidden under a house in Vacarissa, a city located 40 km northwest of Barcelona.
The epilogue of a weeks-long investigation, thanks to information provided by the local police, intrigued by suspicious activity on a farm in the city. Neighbors complained about the strong smell of marijuana.
After the investigation, the investigators decided to act. During the search, investigators found an outbuilding under construction at the bottom of the site with a hatch and a stepladder leading directly to an underground room equipped for growing drugs. 413 plants were seized, as well as all the usual indoor cannabis growing equipment, about fifteen fans and 36 electric ceiling lights.
Three people, two 48-year-old men and a 26-year-old woman, were arrested on the spot, presented to a judge and released on bail until their next court appearance.
The day before, on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, the Catalan police had already dismantled two plantations in industrial warehouses in Olesa de Montserrat and Ryudoms. 3,000 plants and 22 kg of buds were seized. Six men were arrested.
