A free demo of Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon is now available on the Nintendo Switch eShop for the most impatient. Enough to discover the gameplay and beautiful graphics of this prequel to the series. The full version of the game will be released on March 17, 2023.
What’s the story?
The enchanting journey of Seresa and Shushu, her demonic companion, takes place in the forest of Avalon, a place as beautiful as it is beastly, whose appetite for wandering witches is enormous. Because before becoming what we know as “Bayonet”, this apprentice witch forgot about caution and went into this dangerous forest.
The atmosphere is reminiscent of a children’s fairy tale, and the magnificent graphics further emphasize this impression. In terms of gameplay, like any great story that teaches friendship and cooperation, in this new story, Serezha and Shushu coordinate their efforts to fight, explore, and solve puzzles. The left Joy-Con is used to move Cereza and trap enemies with her magic, while the right Joy-Con is used to move Shusha to rip and crush opponents. it definitely takes time to adapt to master the coordination between two Joy-Cons and therefore two characters.
Charming graphics, inspired by the most beautiful picture books, will turn every area of the game into a real painting, as if hand-painted for the occasion. While exploring the forest, players will find magical items to help them through the adventure. In addition, special features such as damage reduction or automation of certain commands will help both newcomers and Bayonetta fans to fully enjoy the game. The skill tree is used to measure this progress.
After the release of Bayonetta 3 last fall, the series offers a nice step back with this promising new opus.
