Video games: play doctor

One of the big campaign topics is the healthcare system, why not try your hand at understanding the problems and why not try to solve them? So, welcome to the world of games where you save lives (or not)…

Video games where you transform into a doctor are not new. Diligently digging through the “internets”, we unearthed “Life and Death” (literally “Life and Death”), dating from 1988. Therefore, as a doctor, you walk around the hospital hyperpixel, as it should be for that era. There are many patients, they suffer from strange ailments, and it is up to you to choose the most appropriate treatment. But, let’s be honest, we quickly get tired of the “vintage” side of things.

Another find, to put it mildly, strange – but much more modern – “Kellogg’s Gut-Bacterial Reef.” If you’ve grabbed onto Kellogg’s, you’re not alone. Indeed, it was the company that initiated this unusual name. This is to let players know about good gut health. Yes, yes, I assure you. To do this, you will need to maintain a balance between all bacteria.

More serious

Let’s get back to our scalpels. In the series “super serious and realistic to the point that they can be used in real life to train medical teams”, here is “Valley General Hospital: NiVR”, which uses virtual reality to immerse the player in the wonderful world of the hospital. Everything is thought out and produced with astonishing attention to detail and precision. But is it really fun?

Speaking of playful, here’s Hospital Tycoon. As the name suggests, it’s about building the “best” hospital in the known universe. If you are interested in a challenge, know that, as in any simulation, you will have to ensure the happiness of all facility staff and patients. And it’s far from easy.

If you are in “big deal” mode, Big Pharma is for you. Because here you are at the head of a conglomerate, research labs, and billions of dollars in profit opportunities. If you’re feeling like a capitalist, jump with both feet into 35 trials in seven scenarios.

The more original Two Point Hospital stands out for the unusual nature of the illnesses of the patients you’ll have to treat by hiring the right doctors, as well as its sandbox mode that lets you unleash your wild imagination… and the sick. Have fun, because it’s very funny… especially since the visual design is like a cartoon.

A very “rose water”, “Medicine of the heart – time to heal” awaits you in an environment that combines medicine and a love story. Yes, it’s possible and it’s almost better than Dre Grey. You play as Alison, who really wants to become the best surgeon. But now she falls in love with the director of the hospital while working with her ex. Uiiiiii, it smells like “soap” through the nose, but it’s nice from time to time.

Funny and irreverent, The Amateur Surgeon invites you, with its highly explosive visual style, to treat people with “tools” made from everyday objects. Of course, you can say goodbye to medical ethics and seriousness, but we’re in a video game, so you can go crazy.

Halfway between horror and simulation, Autopsy Simulator will be from November, as the name suggests, a title in which you play as a coroner, who therefore has to determine the cause of death of corpses. To keep things serious, the game was developed with real doctors and the storyline includes a bloodcurdling detective story.
