Crypto.com, the leading cryptocurrency exchange and trading platform available globally, has added a former Visa Regulatory Director to its team, according to a brief posted on LinkedIn.
Roland Van der Stappen, who led the Visa regulation team in Europe, has reportedly quit and accepted an offer from a cryptocurrency company.
In a statement on LinkedIn on Monday, Van der Stappen said he is now Crypto.com’s vice president of policy and engagement for the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region.
“I am delighted to announce that I am starting a new position as VP Policy and Engagement EMEA at Crypto.com! I can’t wait to dive into #crypto and #Web3 politics and start sharing all the great things my colleagues are working on,” he wrote.
Van der Stappen spent three and a half years managing Visa’s European regulation department, and before that he worked for banking giant Barclays.
Crypto.com was founded in 2016 and currently has over 4,000 people on its team. The exchange, which recently expanded its services to the US market, has a customer base of over 10 million people.
