Vivo V25 and V25 Pro: a new benchmark for vloggers? –

At the event this Wednesday, August 17th, Vivo showed off the new V25 Pro mid-range phone and released a press release about the V25 that was not at the event.

The manufacturer’s idea is to improve the V23 formula to offer an attractive phone aimed at a younger audience, as well as vloggers and other selfie lovers.

Vivo V25, front camera highlighted

Equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC, 8GB to 12GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage, the V25 is a relatively common spec for this range. Its 6.44-inch AMOLED screen offers a 90Hz refresh rate and supports HDR 10+. Note that Vivo has chosen to place the fingerprint sensor on the edge rather than under the screen.

In terms of design, the back is v23’s Fluorite AG coated glass, which allows the phone to “change color” based on UV exposure. This coating is available in blue and gold as opposed to the black coating which will not benefit from it.

The originality of the phone lies in its photo equipment. If on the back we find a 64 MP main sensor with stabilization (OIS), an 8 MP wide-angle and a 2 MP macro, the sensor on the front receives special attention.

Indeed, the selfie camera offers a 50MP autofocus sensor assisted by numerous artificial intelligence algorithms to offer selfie lovers the best possible rendering.

As for other specs, the phone offers a 4500mAh battery, 44W FlashCharge, and the international version will come with Funtouch OS 12 overlay (still without OriginOS).

Vivo has not revealed a release date or price for this model.

More muscular Pro version

The Vivo V25 Pro unveiled today includes the Dimensity 1300 (more powerful) and will offer the same RAM and storage configurations as the V25. The proposed screen is slightly larger at 6.56 inches with curved edges and will have a 120Hz refresh rate.

The fingerprint sensor, meanwhile, extends beyond the edge of the phone and is housed under the AMOLED panel.

The photo configuration does not change at the rear, but the front sensor increases from 50MP to 32MP while maintaining autofocus. At the same time, Vivo offers advanced software features such as Super Night Video and Vlog Movie to record essential social media optimized videos.

The phone is equipped with a 4830mAh battery and 66W FlashCharge technology. It is available in two colors: blue and black, of which only blue has a Fluorite AG coating.

Pre-orders are open, and the first shipments are scheduled for August 25th. Regarding prices:

  • The 8/128 GB version is priced at around €445 (INR 35,999).

  • The 12/256 GB version is priced at around €495 (INR 39,999).
