Wash your car in an ecological way

No more washing your car with water with toxic detergents. Here are 5 steps to a green car wash.

1. The body

Begin by washing the body in sections, starting at the top. Then use warm water mixed with a few drops of eco-friendly soap designed for cars. Finally, rinse with clean water, taking time to soak your cloth between each section.

It can also be washed without water with specialized products sold in automotive centers. In this case, spray and then rub gently with a cloth.

2. The tires

Clean them with the wash water. Add a few drops of vinegar to remove the fat.

To make them shine, mix a little baking soda and water: roll out the dough, let it rest for a few minutes, then pat dry.

3. Windows and mirrors

Use a rag or old newspaper rolled into a ball to shine your windows and mirrors with a mixture of water and white vinegar. You can also add a little rubbing alcohol to your mix.

4. The cabin

Choose agent-free or biodegradable cleaners to clean the booth. Otherwise, a few drops of olive oil or cleansing milk on a cloth will make the leather on the seats and dashboard shine.

5. Carpets

For stains and calcium on carpets, pour a mixture of sparkling water (⅔) and vinegar (⅓), then scrub with a brush. Rinse, dry the carpets in the sun and vacuum.

And to eliminate odors, slip a sheet of biodegradable fabric softener under a seat. A bag of pine needles and dried flowers will do the same.

UPDATE: This text was amended on April 22 to remove the mention of dish soap in the body section.
