The announcement of Rolovich’s decision has apparently been revealed by former Hawaii and SMU coach June Jones. Jones trained Rolovich in Hawaii and has been friends with him ever since.
“He and I have had six or seven conversations in the last 60 days, and my advice is take the hit,” Jones told USA Today.
“There is too much at stake to risk losing your job and it is a regrettable situation. It may go against what he obviously believes, but there are more people at stake: the credibility of the university, the lives of the assistant coaches and their families. There is much more to him, and that is exactly what I told him.

Rolovich reportedly disagreed with the news of his religious exemption.
Rolovich’s stance, or lack thereof, on vaccination already caught people’s attention when he was denied admission in person to Pac-12 press days and had to participate via Zoom. He was the only coach or player at the conference who did not attend in person.

Then a month later, after Washington Governor Jay Inslee announced a state mandate for all K-12 and higher education employees, Rolovich said he would comply with the mandate, but declined to comment further on issues. immunization.
