What was this strange glowing phenomenon seen last night in the Belgian sky?

Many Belgians noticed a strange phenomenon in the sky on the night from Saturday to Sunday. With the naked eye, a line consisting of dozens of luminous dots was visible.

In fact, this phenomenon is not natural. This is a constellation of famous mini-satellites launched by Elon Musk’s Space X.

These satellites have been regularly launched since 2019 by a Falcon-9 rocket from Cape Canaveral in Florida. The last launch is dated this Friday, so watching these satellites go into orbit last night. The company announced that they intend to strengthen their Internet access service by expanding its geographical coverage.

According to Starlink, 858 such ships have already been launched. The company’s goal is to have 12,000 satellites by 2025, and eventually 42,000.
