Windows 11: Microsoft Office gets a little facelift –

With the release of Windows 11, a relatively low-key but welcome update, Microsoft took the opportunity to update its graphical interface called “Sun Valley.” Intended to be simple and elegant, this interface is also intended to be more practical for touch screen users.

After giving Paint a little facelift, it’s the Redmond firm’s office suite’s turn to undergo a visual update. Note that it refers to both Microsoft 365 (subscription) and Office 2021 (perpetual license) available from October 5 of this year.

Harmonize the design

While a massive revision is expected within a year or two, Microsoft has been content with minor changes to provide a more “natural and consistent” interface for all of its applications.

The ribbon is slightly more rounded, the buttons for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook have been modified, and the Quick Access Toolbar is hidden by default. The biggest news is that Office automatically adapts to the light or dark Windows theme.

The update should now be available in Windows 11. The new layout should automatically activate on half of the equipped machines. For others, you can click the megaphone-shaped icon in the upper right corner to turn it on (or off).
