Bungie, the creator of Destiny 2, has announced that a new storefront for the game will be open next month. The success of The Witch Queen, the latest addition to the current multiplayer shooter, has contributed a lot to this year’s success.
While Bungie has already given us a plan for the future of Destiny 2, it looks like we’ll know a lot more in a month.
The Destiny 2 event will take place on August 23 next month, where the developers will discuss what Guardians can expect in the next exciting chapter.
Most likely, we are talking about “Lightfall”, the next significant addition, which is scheduled for release this year. However, The Witch Queen could see a 2023 release date instead after the rescheduling. Therefore, we will follow the presentation, where the creators have to reveal new information.
However, it is not known whether the creator plans to release Lightfall this year or in 2023. During the demonstration, information about the campaign and release date will most likely be leaked.
Earlier this month, it was announced that Bungie had been acquired by Playstation after purchasing it from Sony. When Sony revealed in January that it was buying Bungie for £2.6 billion ($3.6 billion), fans began to wonder what would become of the studio’s current projects.
The Destiny 2 presentation will likely discuss Season 18 in more detail and possibly reveal our first details about Lightfall, the game’s next big update. Unfortunately, there are still few details about Lightfall yet. However, we do know that this DLC will release around 2023.
Considering we’re already in the second half of 2022, it makes sense that Bungie would start talking more about Lightfall during this event next month. And if we’re lucky, we might even find out the release date for the long-awaited expansion.
