As a reminder, the games added to the backward compatibility program were improved compared to the original versions. This includes :

  • Better stability (maximum frame rate)
  • Better resolution when using dynamic resolution
  • 16x anisotropic filtering for much better textures
  • V-sync
  • Minimum image refresh rate

This big game shipment for the Backward Compatibility Program will be the last. Microsoft has indicated that the other titles are too complicated to add, especially in terms of licensing or technicalities. Therefore, the offer is final and we regret the absence of several games such as Project Gotham Racing, but in the end the Xbox team did a remarkable job not only to preserve, but also to improve many retro games distributed on their consoles in the past. .
