Xbox September update releases today with new features and improvements

The Xbox update came out this month. As always, the Xbox team has found new ways to update the Xbox experience with several new improvements and additional features. Let’s see what’s included in the September update.

Customize the color of the Xbox button on your Xbox Elite Series 2 Wireless Controller.

You can now change the color of the Xbox button on your Xbox Elite Series 2 Wireless Controller! Simply go to the Xbox Accessories app on your Xbox or Windows PC with a controller connected, select your profile, and then select the colors tab. There you can change the color and brightness of the glow of the Xbox button. If you don’t see this feature, try restarting your computer.

Redesign of the library of games and applications

You may remember we mentioned that the new Game Library UI is being tested as part of the Xbox Insiders Alpha Ring program. The updated game library is now publicly available with the Xbox September Update. The new tabbed interface offers a better browsing experience for all your games and apps and is a much more intuitive system for finding things.

Other new features

Additionally, with this new update, users can choose different installation locations for different types of games and apps on Xbox One and Series X|S consoles. Games that use next-generation optimizations can be configured to install directly on internal SSD storage, while games that don’t need the benefits of an SSD can be stored on, say, an external hard drive by default.

Share pictures using the Xbox Game Bar on your Windows PC with a new feature that lets you get a link to share pictures and videos. You can share anywhere: SMS, Twitter, WhatsApp, Messenger and more. Press the Windows key + G on your keyboard or the Xbox button on your controller and select Copy Game Bar Gallery Link. The capture will be loaded with a shared link.

Group Chat Noise Removal, a feature that was released for Series X|S consoles earlier this month, is now available for Xbox One and Windows 10 and 11 PCs. Finally, you can now set up parties in the Xbox app with the new “Start Party” button. Find it under the “Social Networks” tab in the new “Party” option. Create a new group or restart a previous group and select friends to invite.

As you can see, there are a lot of new features coming to Xbox in September. The user interface is constantly evolving and it’s great to see such cool new additions. Which of these new features are for Xbox games? Try them out and let us know what you think in the comments section.
