Released in June 2019, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night appears to have enjoyed great critical and commercial success. Offering a new free game mode last January, ArtPlay’s Metroidvania was quite logically among the games present during the presentation of the results of the Q3 2020/2021 of Digital Bros. On this occasion, we were notably entitled to some information on the license.
A sequel in development
Without a doubt, the most important announcement is that a sequel is currently in development. If no other information has been communicated on this subject, it will surely be happy to the fans to know that they will be able to continue the adventure soon. We have also learned that the game has sold more than a million copies for € 30.2M in revenue out of the € 30M expected.
The game first appeared in Xbox Game Pass in 2019 before leaving service on March 15. The high Metacritic score as well as the profitability of the project are necessarily determining factors in the decision to make a sequel and we hope that success will also be there for this next opus.
